Hi,
Hi, I’m Morgan-Leigh Collins. I’m a counsellor who supports individuals in reconnecting with their inner resources, navigating life’s challenges, and moving toward meaningful change at their own pace.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in respect for each person’s lived experience. I aim to offer a non-judgemental space where curiosity, insight, and growth can unfold naturally, without expectation or pressure.

While I bring professional training and evidence-informed practice into the room, I also bring humility and care. Counselling, for me, is not about imposing answers, but about walking alongside you as you make sense of your experiences and reconnect with what matters most to you.
My Story
My path to becoming a counsellor has been shaped by both professional training and lived experience. I know what it means to feel overwhelmed, lost, or unseen, because I have walked those spaces myself. Experiences of grief, trauma, and rebuilding have deeply informed how I understand emotional pain, resilience, and growth.

While these experiences shape my empathy, the counselling space is always centred on you — your story, your meaning-making, and your pace.
Why Built Through It?
Built Through It is more than a name. It reflects a guiding belief that we are shaped by what we move through — but not defined by it.

Life inevitably leaves marks. Loss, adversity, relationships, culture, and circumstance all play a role in shaping who we are becoming. Within this framework, counselling is not about erasing the past or minimising pain. It is about understanding how your experiences have shaped you, and reclaiming agency in how you continue to grow.

Built Through It honours both resilience and choice. You are not simply the product of what has happened to you; you are also an active participant in your ongoing becoming.
Why I do This Work
As Jungers and Gregoire (2013) describe, the counselling psychologist can be an agent of hope, empowerment, strength, and liberation. This understanding resonates deeply with me and continues to guide my work.

I do this work to walk alongside people as they untangle difficult experiences, question limiting narratives, and reconnect with their inherent worth and capacity for change. It is a privilege to offer a space where curiosity, courage, and insight can unfold — gently, collaboratively, and without pressure.

I believe counselling is not only about learning how to cope, but about deepening self-understanding, reclaiming personal agency, and creating space for growth that feels authentic and sustainable.
Who I Work With and How I Work
I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, each bringing their own challenges, questions, and hopes for change.

Whether you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, searching for meaning, or seeking greater clarity, you are welcome here.

My practice is integrative and evidence-informed, drawing on approaches such as mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), cognitive-behavioural techniques, narrative work, positive psychology, and existential exploration. These approaches are adapted to each client’s unique experience, needs, and pace.

Through Built Through It, I offer more than strategies or insight. I offer a therapeutic relationship grounded in respect, care, and collaboration — where growth is approached thoughtfully and realistically.
